Dominoes

Match tiles and score whenever the open ends add up to a multiple of five.

Goal and setup

Two players receive seven tiles each from a double-six set of 28 tiles, from 0–0 through 6–6. The rest form a face-down boneyard. Be first to reach the selected target of 100 or 250 points. This version awards points during play as well as at the end of deals.

Your turn

Select a tile and the end where you want to place it. Touching halves must have equal pips. The starting player may place any tile on an empty table; the engine handles its orientation. If nothing fits, draw from the boneyard. You cannot draw or pass while you have a legal play. Passing is available only with no legal play and an empty boneyard.

Scoring ends

After a play, the engine totals the exposed ends. A positive multiple of five scores that many points: ends showing 2 and 3 score 5. An exposed end double counts both halves. Consider the resulting whole layout, not just your tile.

Four ends option

When enabled, the first double can become a junction. Its two additional branches open after both main directions have been played on. Matching pips still applies and all active ends contribute to scoring.

Ending deals and the match

Playing your final tile ends the deal and scores your opponent's remaining pips, rounded to the nearest five. If both players are blocked, the lower hand total wins and scores the difference, also rounded to five. Equal totals give neither player an advantage. Deals continue until the target is reached; points scored during a play can win the match immediately.
